Matt and Da

Matt's Da (Becky's dad) trekked to North East on Tuesday the 22nd. It was a long 10 hour day but he made it safely. Matt was very excited to see him as you can see in the photo. They laughed, sang and played together all week! Matt had not seen Da since Labor Day. We will be traveling to SC for Christmas (only 4 weeks away!!). Everyone was surprised to see Matt standing up on his own, crawling around and his 2 new teeth! It only took 8 months for them to get here. Da did some sight seeing and shopping. And of course delighted in the local seafood. We spent Thanksgiving Day in historic Bethel, DE, with Matt's paternal grandmother, great grandmother, uncle and aunt. It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze. Matt enjoyed the weather in his favorite swing overlooking the Broad Creek. He also ensured that the big boys didn't burn the house down while frying their first turkey. Grandma gave in and surprised Matt with his very first Christmas present. It was a set of balls with animals inside. He and the dogs had a great time in the kitchen with his new toys. Being that it was Thanksgiving we devoured mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, turkey, dressing ,gravy, green bean casserole and slaw. To top it all off we had homemade pumpkin and apple pie. After letting the food settle we piled back in the Blazer and returned to North East. Matt also gained a new nickname thanks to his uncle Pat - Mat The W aka MatTheW. Pretty clever I thought.....

Matthew's Baptism

Sunday was Matthew's baptism and aside from almost ripping Becky's necklace off when he was passed to her Dad everything went great. After the baptism we met a woman who had the same name as my grandmother. She happened to be a distant relative which, I still need to look into. Then on to lunch at Wesley's which was great. Matthew spent the rest of the day playing, crawling and showing off for the grandparents. Pics to come.

Matt's first blog

This is our blog for our baby boy Matthew. He was born on March 21, 2005. He is our first and of course he is perfect.

Well, yesterday was Matt's first turkey day. We deep fried a turkey which was the first time for our family. Matt wasn't able to have any turkey yet because he dosen't have any teeth yet. However, there are 2 teeth starting to come through. Matt dined on mixed veggies and beef; and of course we let him try a little mashed potatos. Pics to come.
